Craps Strategies

Many a gambler has studied the game of craps trying to come across a method that will enable them to beat the casino.  But to this day no technique has been designed that provides participants a significant advantage in craps.  There are two key obstacles in developing such a method:

Craps has no strict structure: Players do not know for how long the shooter will play, his/her turn can go on for one roll or can continue on for 10, 20 or maybe even additional rolls.

Craps games are random: Each roll of the dice is separate from the preceding roll, different from a game like Blackjack where players know what cards that have been played and are retired until the decks are reshuffled.

Due to the lack of a successful approach the only thing a player can do is embrace a tactic they feel will be productive for the short term (the house always wins in the long term) and enjoy playing the game.

  • Be reasonable in what a player can accomplish in a single outing.  Every person would like to break the bank but it’s not probably going to to come to pass, so be content when you come out ahead on any given outing.
  • Set your limits before you start playing.  As an illustration; assume you have $100 in your bankroll, resolve prior to playing to stop when your bankroll goes down to say $50 or when it goes up to say $500.
  • Until the time you have increased you bankroll, be conservative with your wagering (pass line bets with odds are your wisest bets because they have the lowest casino edge).  Assuming you win and grow your bankroll then you can decide if you want to assume a greater aggressive betting approach.
  • Know your bets.  Learn what the wagers are, how to make them and what the odds are of winning.  This knowledge will enable you to make other more risky bets wisely if you become bored making conservative wagers.
